Popcorn has been enjoyed by our grandparents, parents, and even great grandparents. It has been said that American actually eat over sixteen billion quarts of popcorn each and every year. I wrote this article to talk about the many interesting facts of popcorn and popcorn cookers.

Firstly, we should go over popcorn before we cover the machines they are popped with. This tasty low calorie food is made using kernels of corn and is said to be a whole grain food. This food is a great snack for many people who like to snack at night but do not want to gain weight while doing so.

Popcorn machines are the tools we use to transform corn kernels into wonderful snacks that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. These machines come in many different shapes and sizes and can be found in both homes and places of business.

You can pop popcorn in small amounts using a stove top or a microwave. You’ll find that the biggest use the modern day microwave is for cooking popcorn. Interestingly enough, the commercial popcorn cooker has been around much longer than the modern day microwave. In 1885 the world’s first popcorn machine was built and is still sold today.

You’ll see large scale machines at carnivals, theaters, and even restaurants. Carnivals are just not the same without the great big cotton candy trailers and popcorn machines just around every turn.

What most people don’t realize is that popcorn poppers are not just for business use. Popcorn poppers can be bought in miniature sizes so that they can be brought into your house. You wouldn’t believe how much better non-burnt popcorn tastes compared to the burnt up microwaved popcorn you might find. When your buddies visit they could all enjoy some popcorn fresh from your new popcorn popper.

These popcorn machines are not even expensive to purchase. You can find them all over the Internet for less than a few hundred dollars a piece. These machines can even be used as business tools to bring in additional revenue selling popcorn.

It was fun and exciting writing this article for you. Thank you so much for reading.

Maple syrup is considered as a common sweetener for breakfasts and desserts. However, many people don’t know certain interesting facts about it such as the methods in producing it and its several types.

Maple syrup production is indeed an interesting process, and it all begins in a sugar bush, which is a term used to describe a maple syrup farm. In this location, sugar maple trees or black maple trees are cultivated. Manufacturers of maple syrup have chosen the two aforesaid kinds of maple trees as they contain the maximum amount of sugar. Normally during February, March, and April, maple trees produce sap, which is collected by plastic pipelines that are attached to specific parts of the trees. The pipes send the maple sap to a large container, which is then transported to a sugarhouse. Once in the sugarhouse, the sap will be placed in a tank that has valves, which lead to a flat pan called an evaporator. The evaporator will boil down the sap so much that a large amount of water in it is lost and it would turn into a syrupy substance, which is the final product. With regard to its main producers, Canada provides around 80% of the world’s maple syrup, most of it made in the province of Quebec. In the United States, Vermont is the biggest maple syrup producer.

<!--

Moving on, maple syrup comes in a number of grades. In Canada, maple syrup is divided into three grades, each one bearing a number of classes depending on color.
First is Canada
#1, which includes extra light, light, and medium. Next is Canada
#2 which bears amber and Canada
#3 which includes dark maple syrup.

In the United States, maple syrup is divided into Grade A and Grade B. Grade A is further broken down into light amber, medium amber, and dark amber. Grade B is much darker than Grade A dark amber.

Finally, looking for sources of bottled maple syrup is easy as this product is purchasable in almost all cities. Supermarkets and grocery stores are main sources of maple syrup. In these establishments, you can find various types, brands, and quantities of maple syrup, and some of them might even let you’ve a sample of a particular brand before buying it. But then, if you plan to begin a business related to maple syrup such as a pancake stand, you can find retail outlets in your city that sell maple syrup in bulk.

Popcorn and Online Movies – A Yummy History
Long before movie goers found that popcorn and movies go together like Bogie and Bacall, popcorn was being enjoyed by our cave dwelling ancestors.
Imagine eating a snack that’s well over 5,000 years old!
Eatin’ Popcorn In A Cave
Way back when, someone was apparently munching some popcorn in a cave in what is now New Mexico. They didn’t finish their snack and some 5,600 years later, what might be the world’s oldest popcorn was discovered.
But while 5,600 years is old indeed, it can’t begin to compare to the oldest corn pollen ever discovered. After digging for long forgotten goodies some 200 feet below Mexico City, archaeologists unearthed fossilized corn pollen dating back some 80,000 years.
1000 Years Fresh?
And a single kernel of popped popcorn believed to be around 1,000 years old was found in a cave in Utah. Did you know that popped popcorn can still look fresh after a very long period… But it would probably taste stale, right?
The Original Popcorn Vendors
Many experts agree that popcorn originated in the Americas with explorers learning about popcorn from Native Americans.
Native Americans also wore head dresses adorned with popcorn and wore popcorn jewelry… Would you like your necklace plain or with salt and butter?
During the late 1800’s, popcorn was being sold in the United States by vendors on the street, in parks at Carnivals and Fairs.
Movies And Popcorn
Some years later, when street vendors started setting up outside movie theatres, they weren’t welcome, at least as far as the theatre owners were concerned. They thought the vendors were a distraction.
But movie goers didn’t agree. They went out on the sidewalk in droves to buy bags of yummy popcorn before going back inside to see the movie.
The Movie Snack Bar Is Invented
Movie theatre owners have always had a keen eye for profits. So a few of the smarter ones asked the vendors to come inside and split whatever they made from their popcorn sales with the theatre. Of course it wasn’t long until the theatre owners understood they could set up their own popcorn popper and send the vendor packing… And that’s apparently how the movie snack bar came to be.
The United States Is The Popcorn Center Of Planet Earth
Americans now consume over one billion pounds of popcorn annually… That’s about 70 quarts a year for every American!
Popcorn And Online Movies
Cave dwellers didn’t know that one day, we’d be sitting down with a big bowl of freshly popped popcorn to watch a movie online – in the comfort of our own cave that is home or office.
